About

Mere Down Falconry is a private centre and not open to the public and we offer various experiences to suit your requirements, a real hands on experience. We are not like the larger centres and do not do big groups so you get our undivided attention and more time flying and handling the birds.

The Centre opened in 2007 and has around 25 various Birds of Prey ranging from Owls, Hawks, Falcons, Kite and a Vulture.

We are located on a working farm and have over 800 acres to fly on if required. The countryside is a sight to see with our Valley and Whitesheet Hill and Mere Down and we are located just 5 minutes of the A303.

"We pride ourself on a personal and friendly service where our birds welfare and our guests experience is our top priority"

Our Mission

& Vision

To provide our birds with the highest standards of care and welfare

To provide our guests with a personal and memorable experience

To educate people about birds of prey, wildlife and the countryside around us.

Our Mission

Allan has spend most of his life surrounded by animals.

Allan started Mere Down Falconry whilst working on farms throughout the west country. He saw a demand for experiences with the hawks he kept privately and birds at outside displays. In 2007 Allan took the plunge and now runs and operates Mere Down Falconry full time. He has a passion and love for wildlife, birds and of course tractors.

Allan is normally the smiley face you will see at the center for your experience.
